My hair was so dry and dull from a previous color and I let my hair grow out for too long before stopping my. This was genuinely one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. If I could rate this place ten stars I would! Kaitlyn is the most attentive and talented hair stylist I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. I’ve come in with a variety of requests (everything from a full highlight all the way to getting my hair neon pink) and she’s done an incredible job every time. My hair is naturally dark and curly so I’m always cautious about damage, and Kaitlyn has always managed to leave my hair feeling even healthier than when I came in no matter what treatment we’ve done. I’m new to the neighborhood and discovered Ethos Hair Salon from class pass initially for a blowout. Kaitlyn was so quick and talented with my hair. I went back for my color. I love Ethos and LOVE Kaitlyn. The best salon and stylist on the west side. She is truly so talented with color and creative styling. When I first went to Kaitlyn I had moved from NYC and was hesitant to find someone new. My hair has always been an important part of my expression and I cherish the relationships I have with my hair stylist. Kaitlyn, owner of Ethos, can do it all with a sweet and chill attitude. She makes you feel confident and comfortable. Technically-she is excellent at color and cut. She was able to touch up a particular bleach blonde look I had done in NYC and blend my natural gray pattern with such artistic precision. I would be stopped weekly by people asking who did my hair. She also shaped a beautiful bob for me as I grew out a pixie. Later, when I wanted to go back to my natural brown and honey highlights, and cover my gray pattern-she whipped up a color blend that is now my go to and I love it! Needless to say I always leave Ethos feeling happy and confident. I know at Ethos I can creatively play with color and style.

I also want to note I’m just shy of 40, Queer and particular about who I want to support and let do my hair. It can be vulnerable-we all have a wtf story I’m sure with a color mess up or not feeling heard/seen-Ethos is a place I would recommend to my queer friends looking for funky color and my mom friends who want to feel confident and refreshed. I went to her as a natural redhead who had never colored my hair before, so I was pretty cautious about highlights looking fake or too harsh. She absolutely nailed it. From the first time I met Kaitlyn when she was working at salty Maine, there was something different. She was not just nice as in fake nice but very patient very gentle with my hair a lot of salons. They just wash your hair get it all matted up and then brush it real rough my hair is fine and thin so I’m careful how I brush it.
